Make a difference in students’ lives by donating to the Plant a Diplomatic “Tree” Annual Campaign! Described as “life-changing” and “indispensable”, the International Student Conferences, Inc. (ISC) student-led conferences empower and prepare the next generation of U.S.-Asia leaders.
Your donations will cover the total cost of three participants in our 2025 Conferences: the 77th Japan-America Student Conference (JASC), the 18th Korea-America Student Conference (KASC), and the 5th China-America Student Conference (ChASC).
In 2024, ISC awarded three full scholarships and one partial scholarship, allowing three students to attend the conferences thanks to generous donations from the community. Students are selected based on financial need.
To support the accessibility of the conferences, ISC has not raised participation fees in more than 16 years! However, many students still find the financial and opportunity cost of joining ISC Conferences increasingly prohibitive, making participation difficult. This is especially true for those with student loans or those entering a deeply uncertain post-graduation job market.
Any donations received over the cost of supporting three students will be saved as part of the scholarship for supporting students in future years or supporting more than three students in a year where need is especially great.
Every donation matters. Please join us in sowing the seeds of diplomacy and reaching our goal.
History and Background
In 1934, a group of students from Japan and America came together to “promote peace by furthering mutual understanding, friendship and trust.” That tradition remains vibrant today, 90-years later.
Now in its ninth decade, International Student Conferences’ mission resonates more than ever and stretches beyond Japan to South Korea and China. Against a backdrop of growing nationalism, trade wars, and global tensions, our conferences foster open dialogue among students across the Pacific and sow the seeds for future diplomatic understanding and a future of global peace.
JASC Branch In Honor of Kristy Murray Holch
Each year the JASC scholarship is given in honor of the memory of Kristy Murray Holch (JASC 38) and her commitment to global citizenship. Serving as ISC Board Chair for over a decade, Kristy expanded the ISC mission to sow the seeds for deeper peer-to-peer opportunities beyond Japan to include Korea and China. Kristy passed away in July 2022 and she is deeply missed.
